Because of the involvement of a family member, our hearts have been drawn to the
Christian Recovery of Compulsive Gambling and Gambling Addiction. After doing
considerable research on the internet on compulsive gambling and participating in
the Recovery Process ( Gambler's Anonymous )
with a loved one in a Support Group ( Gamanon ), we would
like to share what we have found with all who visit this web site.
We have actively been involved with a support group and have been evaluating
many available resources, organizations, treatment clinics, web sites, and
support groups.
The New North Carolina Education Lottery has set up a toll free Gambling Addicts Helpline at 877-718-5543. Callers to North Carolina's problem gambling line are sent a packet of information designed to help them determine whether they or family members are in need of further assistance. They also have a Problem Gambling Web Site. Using an expected $1 million from the lottery commission, the department also will organize a statewide system of counselors and mental health professionals to treat problem gamblers and pay for the service for some patients.
