THE SENIORS DEVOTIONAL BIBLE, published by Zondervan, has 365 devotional intended for the elderly. A topical
index makes it easy to find appropriate selections. This Bible has been
discontinued by Zondervan and we are currently loooking for a source.

AURORA MINISTRIES: BIBLE ALLIANCE provides the Bible on cassette tapes free of charge to the

NURSING HOME MINISTRY, A MANUAL is a complete reference for both the beginner and
the experienced. This is a complete reference on the "how to" of nursing home
ministry. In addition to great references, the "Needs & Concerns Chart" cites
scriptures for many situation experienced by residents. This manual is
currently available online on our web
site. Please feel free to download and print the files and use in your ministry.
A new revised edition should be available in the last quarter of 2003.
A SONG FOR GRANDMOTHER VIDEO AND BOOK by Dorothy Miller, is available from our web page. These materials are very useful in recruiting and training
volunteers for nursing home ministry.
BETHESDA HYMNAL is a spiral bound, words only, large print hymnal, with over 300 songs and some

LARGE PRINT HYMNAL AND WORSHIP BOOK FOR ALZHEIMER'S WORSHIP SERVICES:

The Bible League in regular and large-print versions. Several are applicable for ministry: Who Cares When I Hurt,
Someone Cares, and Living Long and Loving It. These are available at low cost at 1-800-334-7017.
BLESS BIBLE STUDIES are written especially for the frail elderly. They are published by
Augsburg and available direct from the publisher or through Christian Bookstores.
THE SERENDIPITY STUDY BIBLE, published by Zondervan and also available through the
International Bible Society, has good helps and suggested questions for group Bible studies.
This is available from the publishers and local bookstores.
"DIAMONDS IN THE DUST" by Joni Eareckson Tada is an excellent devotional book for the
handicapped. Her organization is called JAF Ministries. Their web site provides information and links on disabilities.
THE ONE YEAR BOOK OF HYMNS, published by Tyndale, offers 365 devotional readings based on great
hymns of the faith.
DAY BY DAY WITH BILLY GRAHAM is another good devotional to use in a care center.
THE LIFE CARE COMMISSION OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EVANGELICALS is a group of individuals,
denominations and care facilities who meet together to address common challenges.
Administrators look at concerns like regulatory issues, finances and ethics, while chaplains
are working on developing a uniform training program and a support network. Write to the Life

CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF SENIOR ADULTS (CASA) is a ministry to leaders and pastors serving
older adults in the local church.

are professional, pastoral and lay Christian Counselors. AACC sponsors national and regional

HARD CHOICES FOR LOVING PEOPLE by Hank Dunn is a good fifty page booklet on CPR, artificial

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED PERSONS has produced quite a bit of good materials on grief

LIFE INTERNATIONAL stands for Living In Full Effectiveness and was founded by Drs. Win and Chip
Arn to bring into focus research and Christian resources for the older adult age group. They
have produced some booklets, videos and a correspondence course on ministry with older adults.
