Comfort & Peace from God's Word

God Bless America

  • Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, who have been called according to his purpose.

  • Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

  • Deuteronomy 31:8 - The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

  • John 16:33 - "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

  • Psalm 121:1-2 - 1 I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

  • 2 Chronicles 7:14 - if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

  • Revelation 21:3,4 - "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

  • Revelation 3:20 - Look! I am standing at the door and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.

"If I could have only one wish for God's people, it would be that all of us would return to the Word of God, that we would realize once for all that His Book has the answers. The Bible is the authority, the final resting place of our cares, our worries, our griefs, our tragedies, our sorrows, and our surprises. It is the final answer to our questions, our search. Turning back to the Scriptures will provide something that nothing else on the entire earth will provide."- Charles Swindoll

God Bless America - Melody, Irving Berlin

God Bless America.

Land that I love

Stand beside her, and guide her

Thru the night with a light from above.

From the mountains, to the prairies,

To the oceans, white with foam

God bless America

My home sweet home.

"It was in the fall of 1938, as war was again threatening Europe, that Irving Berlin decided to write a "peace" song. Then he recalled his "God Bless America" song that he had written twenty years earlier. He made some alterations to reflect the different state of the world and "God Bless America" was born. Singer Kate Smith introduced "God Bless America" during her radio broadcast on Armistice Day, 1938. The song was an immediate sensation and its sheet music was in great demand. As a result Berlin soon established the God Bless America Fund, dedicating the royalties to the Boy and Girl Scouts of America."
