We have been made aware of a new web site for a long standing nursing home outreach called "Love Your Neighbor Ministries". According to Director David Compton of Gresham Oregon, it is a fellowship of men and women (chaplains and volunteers) committed to reaching out in compassion to people in healthcare settings, especially Nursing Homes.
At this time of year we are reminded of Matthew 25 verses 35 & 36:
'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
We would like to suggest that as we celebrate this Holiday Season, that we leave an extra plate on the table, time in our schedule, and love in our heart for the "least of these", and see our Lord Jesus Christ show up just as He promised.
May the Lord bless you all richly for love for our senior saints.
